May 14, 2008
Mr. Yaomeng Yue, staff of the Amity Foundation who coordinates the earthquake relief in Cheng-du reported that they had two teams shipping 6,000 boxes of drinking water, 2,400 boxes of instant noodles, and plastic sheets for making of 1700 tents to Du Jiangyan and Baichuan in Mianyang Prefecture, one of the most severely affected areas.
The major media in China has made coverage on Amity's relief work and appealed for donation. Ms. Hong-Yu She, Amity's overseas liaison officer, asks for prayer support of the victims, particularly those who are in the area where aftershock has occurred. She also asks to remember Mr.Yue and the local relief teams as they are delivering relief aid to the most needed.
If you want to give a donation towards the relief work, please send your check made payable to "One Great Hour of Sharing", and mark on the check "China Earthquake Relief", and send the check to the World Relief Office, American Baptist Churches, USA, P.O. Box 851, Valley Forge, PA 19482-0851.
