"I am from Hong Kong and I have a burden for the Gospel ministry in China/ Hong Kong." Rev. Jenny Quey shares her callings. Rev. Quey is the senior pastor of the Community Baptist Church in San Mateo, California. Her church holds three language worship services: Mandarin, Cantonese and English, and is actively in local and global missions.
In year 2006, Rev. Quey joined the Easter Tour of the Amity Foundation which was sponsored the International Ministries, and had a chance to see God's amazing work in the Chinese churches and communities. She also visited the Xian Bible School that trains evangelists and pastors. To meet the increasing need, the Xian Bible School plans to upscale their library and programs to become a theological seminary. Rev. Quey returned to the US with the Xian's vision, and raised US$15,000 for the library. "God has never left China, and God continues to bless the country and the churches in an unexpected way." Rev. Benjamin Chan, Area Director East Asia and India, works with Rev. Quey to utilize the fund to purchase theological books and literature for the Xian Bible School.
There are 22 main theological seminaries and Bible schools, and many other pastoral training centers in China. International Ministries has provided grants towards the facility improvement and faculty development of some of the theological institutions. International Ministries missionary Judy Sutterlin teaches in the Nanjing Union Theological Seminary that nurture pastors, Christian leaders and theological educator for the Church in China.
